PFITZER, Marion A.

PFITZER - Marion A. Age 88, a painter and retired teacher who lived in Phoenix , AZ and Cattaraugus, NY died December 3, 2010 in Hellertown, PA. Marion was born April 20, 1922, in Buffalo to the late Carl and Anna Schuessler Deisig. After her mother died, her father married her stepmother, the late Clara Deisig. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Marion married the late Karl F. Pfitzer, a WWII Navy veteran. Marion taught grade school 26 years in Phoenix. After retiring in 1982, she produced more than 200 still lifes, landscapes and cityscapes. She held exhibits in Arizona and New York and won many prizes. Marion is survived by four children: Karl of Paradise Valley, AZ; Marcy of Prescott Valley, AZ; Kurt of Quakertown, PA; and Brian of Concord, NH; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Deisig Jr. of Buffalo. A sister, Joanne Rice of Syracuse, predeceased her. Also surviving is her companion, John Salamanchuk of Cattaraugus. A celebration of life is planned.
