Donald J. Perry of Eggertsville, who served as president of the Tonawanda Jaycees, died Thursday in St. Francis Nursing Home, Williamsville, after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was 67.
Born in Waterloo, Mr. Perry moved to North Tonawanda with his parents when he was a child. He was a 1961 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and earned an associate's degree in accounting from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute.
Mr. Perry served in the Army from 1962 to 1965. He served as president of the Tonawanda Jaycees in 1974.
He worked in the accounting department at the former Buffalo Forge Co. for more than 30 years and retired from Parts Channel in the Town of Tonawanda in 2005.
Mr. Perry was an active member of St. Joseph University Parish near the University at Buffalo South Campus and was a member of various committees at the church, including its grade school, finance and usher committees.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, the former Noreen Coggins; and two daughters, Terrilee and Jaclyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph University Catholic Church, 3269 Main St.
