STONE, William A.

STONE - William A. Age 88, of Boynton Beach, FL, died peacefully on June 28, 2010. Mr. Stone was born on March 14, 1922 in Colllins, NY, the son of Wilbur and Laura Falk-Stone. He was united in marriage to Nancy Valvo in 1946. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II with numerous decorations for his service in the Asiatic-Pacific as an airplane mechanic gunner. A heliarc welder by trade, he was employed by American Locomotive in Dunkirk, NY and Electric Boat (General Dynamics) in Groton, CT. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of South Dayton, NY, a former member of the American Legion in South Dayton, NY and a longtime member of the bowling league at Fairlanes Bowling Center in Orange City, FL. He will be greatly missed by his survivors, his sister, Shirley A Moses of Cleveland, OH; a brother, Charles H. Stone of South Dayton, NY; a son-in-law, Anthony Gianninoto and daughter, Brenda L. Stone of West Palm Beach, FL and granddaughter, Elaine Gianninoto of West Palm Beach, FL. Friends may call on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 10 - 11 am at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL, (386-775-4260). Services will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Chaplain David Meyer officiating. There will be entombment in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City following services.
