Jonas Stalyga of Grand Island High School was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association of America second-team Boys' High School Senior All-America. Stalyga, an outside hitter, will attend Loyola-Chicago next year.

Four local women are part of the 2010 Junior Women's National team and High Performance Selection Camp for USRowing. The junior women's national team sweep selection camp, going through July 2, will select the junior women's eight and junior women's four with coxswain to to represent the U.S. at the 2010 World Rowing Junior Championships. Invited from West Side Rowing were Eliza Frank, Rachel Hirschbeck and Kellie Solowski, along with Katherine Mahoney of Nardin.

Team Full Ride, a 15U elite baseball team from Williamsville, won the Can/Am 16U Baseball Tournament. The team went 5-0 in a field of 12 teams from Western New York and Ontario. Team members included David Battel, Danny Christmann, Kyle DeGiuli, Ryan Dimartino, Jonah Heim, Kole Gilcrist, Cody Lyndon, Chris Manes, Josh Martin, Zach Monell, Alex O'Donnell and Matt Wilson. Coaches were Jared Conlon, Dan Lyndon and Ed Gray.

St. Bonaventure announced the promotions of two members of the women's basketball staff. Jesse Fleming has been promoted to associate head coach while Priscilla Edwards was named an assistant coach. Fleming, a 2005 St. Bonaventure graduate, has been on the staff for five seasons. Edwards, who completed her playing career for the Bonnies in 2008, spent last year as the team's director of operations.

BASEBALL: Nickel City Baseball will begin a summer skills and conditioning clinic specifically designed for children with high functioning autism and Asperger's Syndrome. The weekly clinics will run Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. from July 6 to Aug. 24 at New Era Park. Visit www.nickelcitybaseball.com.

BASKETBALL: Daemen College is accepting registrations for girls' basketball day camps. Sessions are July 5-9 and July 25-30. Contact Dave Skolen (839-8336) or dskolen@daemen.edu.

FOOTBALL: The John F. Kennedy Touch Football League is adding new teams for the 2010 season. The first meeting of the season will be at 6:30 p.m. July 1 at Sterling Place Pub. Call 675-5630 or 838-4974 or visit www.jfkfootball.com.

GOLF: Bob-O-Link will host a youth golf camp for boys and girls 8-14 to teach full swing basics, short game basics and golf etiquette. Camp is scheduled for July 12, 14 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $125. Bob-O-Link will also host weekly tournaments for youth golfers on Wednesdays beginning July 7 and running through Aug. 25. There is no requirement to play each week. Golfers ages 9-12 will play nine holes while ages 13-17 will play 18. Cost is $10 for nine holes and $15 for 18 holes. Contact Bob-O-Link at 662-4311.

KICKBALL: The M/ILE Adult Co-ed Kickball League is accepting teams for its summer session. Games are played Mondays or Tuesdays at Delaware, Front, Tift and Williamsville. Call Mike at 553-3839.

SOCCER: The M/ILE Soccer league is looking for coed teams for its summer session games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Call Mike at 553-3839.

SOFTBALL: Men's and coed teams are being accepted for the second session season of the M/ILE Softball League. Games are played in Buffalo. Call Mike at 553-3839.

TENNIS: A new junior tennis league will be starting on the West Side of Buffalo on June 30. Contact USTA Eastern Tennis Program Specialist Maria Lirio at 289-0051.
