Robert M. Racle, a retired corrections officer, died Monday in his Town of Tonawanda home. He was 66.
A Buffalo native, Mr. Racle graduated from Seneca Vocational High School and attended Fredonia State College.
He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and was based in Germany.
For 20 years, Mr. Racle worked as a corrections officer with the Erie County Sheriff's Office, retiring in 2004.
Mr. Racle served on the board of directors at Greater Metropolitan Buffalo Crime Stoppers. He was an immediate past president of the Judges and Police Conference of Erie County and also served as director of security for the Variety Club Telethon.
In addition, he was a member of the 100 Club and of the Eggertsville Masonic Lodge. He was a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the choir and a lector at the Church of the Nativity.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, the former Lorraine L. Jaquays; and a daughter, Karen Striejewske.
Services will be held at 10 a. m. Monday in the Church of the Nativity, 1530 Colvin Blvd.
