Ten Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery in Karnataka State, South India, will perform a ceremonial "puja" service for healing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Unity Church of Buffalo, 1243 Delaware Ave.

The Buddha Healing Rite is performed to heal physical illness and to overcome psychological pain and suffering. The mantra is believed to purify negative karma.

Week Two of the Department of Religion interfaith lecture series at Chautauqua Institution will features talks as follows: July 5, Thomas F. Beech, president and CEO of the Fetzer Institute; July 6, Daisy Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement; July 7, the Rev. Otis Moss II, senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago; July 8, the Rev. Richard Cizk, president of the New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good; and July 9, Rabbi Irwin Kula, president of the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership.
All lectures are at 2 p.m. in the Hall of Philosophy.

The annual Novena in honor of Our Blessed Lady of Mount Carmel will be offered July 8 to 16 in the Carmelite Monastery, 75 Carmel Road, with the Rev. John Heisler, a priest of the Diocese of Arlington, Va., presiding.
Services will begin with the rosary at 7 p.m. followed by Mass.
