Good morning.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a chance of showers between noon and 3 p.m. today in the Buffalo area, with a high near 76. Expect those clouds to stick around most of the day.

- Gov. David A. Paterson sent a bill to the State Legislature on Friday intended to erase a $9.2 billion budget deficit and close out the 2010 budget. It includes a mix of hodgepodge of spending and tax hikes and a number of items aimed at enticing lawmakers to end protracted budget wrangling, writes Tom Precious of the News Albany Bureau.

- A man was fatally wounded at Auburn Avenue and Barton Street early this morning.

- The Sabres picked 6-foot, 174-pound defenseman Mark Pysyk of the Edmonton Oil Kings during the first round of Friday's 2010 NHL entry draft, reports News Sports Reporter John Vogl.
