SPOTLIGHT ON BUFFALO: A live interactive forum exploring ways of taking our city's successes to the next level will be held from noon to 4 p.m. today on the Main Floor, adjacent to Ring of Knowledge, in the Central Library. The Moving Success Forward dialogue from 4 to 6 moves to the auditorium. Special guest is Lauren Belfer, author of "City of Light."

SUNSET RECEPTION: Buffalo's City Hall will host a Sunset Reception from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. today on the Observation Deck. Drinks and desserts are available. Cost is $5 at the door. Entry is free with your Citybration Passport and entitles you to one beverage and dessert. Tours of City Hall and of Buffalo from the Observation Deck will be available.

CAREER FAIR: The fifth annual Buffalo Citybration Career Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the ECC City Campus Atrium. Representatives from more than 40 firms and a dozen resource agencies will be on hand.

DRIVER'S COURSE: A state-certified six-hour point- and insurance-reduction course will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, 2950 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Those completing the course will receive 10 percent off their collision and liability auto insurance for three years and will remove up to four points from a driver's license. CRITTERS OF THE CREEK: The Pfeiffer Nature Center's Eshelman Property will hold a Critters of the Creek Walk from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 1420 Yubadam Road, Portville. LADIES TEA: A Ladies Tea will be hosted by the Marilla Historical Society at the Lemke Shelter in Marilla Town Park, Three Rod Road, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday as part of the Marilla Civil War Days. Ladies of all ages are welcome and will be treated to Civil War-era tea. Period dress is encouraged. The event is free.

CHILDREN'S EVENT: Monkey See, Monkey Children's Book Store will host its first free Children's Day Event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturday at 9060 Main St., Clarence. The event includes science camp experiments, an art class, kids' mural painting, a picnic cooking class, Monkey story time, kitemaking art, a pinata celebration, and drum and guitar school.
