Several hundred young people and adults have come to the Buffalo area this week to help refurbish homes.
Christian Mission Group Workcamps runs a program that brings youth from across the country to various cities to help make home repairs.
The organization is partnering with the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo, and has been working on 61 homes here.
About 430 people who are participating in the service program have traveled in groups from churches across the country. Some of them are spending their nights sleeping on the floor of the gymnasium at Nichols School.
One of the sites where work is being done this week is at a home on Lasalle Avenue near Suffolk Street.
A group of workers, mostly from Wisconsin, are repainting the exterior of the home, and fixing the front porch.
