OLAF FUB SEZ: According to French existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, born on this date in 1905, "The best work is not what is most difficult for you; it is what you do best."

Remembering Father

Let's remember our fathers

This June and every day.

He's the man, the head of our family

Whose hair may be missing or gray.

Maybe he has left our world

And that fact makes us sad.

Our memories recall his face and voice.

No one can take the place of dear old Dad.

He's the guy who mended our bike

And set up our Christmas trees.

He's the fellow who paid the bills,

Food, clothing and tuition for you and me.

He's the one whose eyes lit up

For a daughter dressed for her senior prom,

Who yelled the loudest for a son's home run,

Who respected and loved your Mom.

He's the one whose presence we anticipated

At the end of every day,

With candy in his pocket

And a smile like a bright sun ray.

The one whose arms we would jump to,

The one we would gratefully greet.

Our man of the house, the man of the moment,

Who made our lives complete.
