Three escape Falls blaze that leaves bakery, apartments as total loss

Three people escaped from a blaze on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls on Saturday.

Firefighters were called to 7619 Buffalo Ave., a commercial building with apartments, at 5:20 p.m., the department said.

There was at least one business, a bakery, located in the building, which was a total loss, officials said.

Two adults and a child who were in one of the apartments escaped the building after the fire started.

The fire started in the attic, according to investigators, and spread to the roof. The cause is under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
