An open-air bus will tour "Into the Heart of Black Rock," this morning before acting as a float in the Black Rock community parade.
During the tour riders will receive architectural and historic commentary by Tim Tielman, executive director of the Campaign for Greater Buffalo History, Architecture and Culture.
The bus will visit sites associated with Grover Cleveland, the War of 1812, and the social and industrial history of Black Rock from Prospect Hill to Riverside. Tielman will cover 325 years of history in five miles.
This year marks the fourth year of The Campaign for Greater Buffalo's Open-Air Autobus tours of Buffalo history and architecture.
The tour, which departs at 11 a.m. from Elmwood Avenue at Bidwell Parkway, lasts two hours and costs $20. It is only being offered once this year.
