TIME OF NEED -- Friends and family are holding a fundraiser to help cover medical bills for Lisa Church of Lancaster, who recently was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. A bank loan officer and mother of a 13-year-old daughter, she's the wife of real estate agent Ed Church, who owns Eddie Ryan's Restaurant.

The benefit will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday in Main-Transit Fire Hall, 6777 Main St., Amherst. Tickets are $20 and include food, beverages and entertainment. Among the tickets and auctions is a grand-prize drawing for a 42-inch flat-screen TV. For information, call Nancy Hellerer at 633-1111 or look for Lisa Church Benefit Fundraiser on Facebook.


TEE IT UP -- All boys and girls in North Tonawanda ages 8 to 16 are eligible for the city Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks 2010 Youth Golf Program. Applications are available at the recreation office at 500 Wheatfield St. The Tuesday program starts July 6 and the Thursday program July 8. BARGAIN TIME -- Brighton Community Church, 1225 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda, is holding a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday. Admission is $1. A bag sale starts at 1 p.m. Saturday.


WEEKEND MENU -- University United Methodist Church, 410 Minnesota Ave., holds a salad bar luncheon and mini silent auction from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Donation is $6.50.

The Ladies Auxiliary of West Seneca Post 8113, AMVETS, holds a Father's Day breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon in Post 735, American Legion, 35 Legion Parkway, West Seneca. Tickets are $7 adults, $3.50 for kids 10 and under.

The First Communitywide Father's Day Picnic takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Temple Beth Am, 4660 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. All the food will be kosher. There will be volleyball, horseshoes and activities for children. Tickets are $7, $20 per family.

The Hillcrest Volunteer Fire Company, Ellicott Road, Route 240, Orchard Park, holds its annual Father's Day chicken barbecue from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
