TIME OF NEED -- Friends and family are holding a fundraiser to help cover medical bills for Lisa Church of Lancaster, who recently was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. A bank loan officer and mother of a 13-year-old daughter, she's the wife of real estate agent Ed Church, who owns Eddie Ryan's Restaurant.
The benefit will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday in Main-Transit Fire Hall, 6777 Main St., Amherst. Tickets are $20 and include food, beverages and entertainment. TEE IT UP -- All boys and girls in North Tonawanda ages 8 to 16 are eligible for the city Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks 2010 Youth Golf Program. The First Communitywide Father's Day Picnic takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Temple Beth Am, 4660 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. All the food will be kosher. There will be volleyball, horseshoes and activities for children. Tickets are $7, $20 per family.
