A Relative Term
Members: Mark Longolucco, with David Adamczyk and Paul Kozlowski
What's up?: A new disc, "Happiness," is available now through iTunes and CD Baby.
Why?: Essentially a one-man band centered around the singing and songwriting of Longolucco, A Relative Term's sound has been described by NPR as music bolstered by "earnest, world-weary vocals and beautifully earthy and intimate instrumentation."
"Happiness," Longolucco's latest, was recorded at home, often in the wee, small hours, and as a result, is touched by a late-night intimacy and a sense of ethereal quietude. It's subtle, stirring and often beautiful stuff, described by Longolucco on A Relative term's My Space page as something akin to "a whispered lullaby." Live, with a band backing him, the music is transformed into something "hovering just above a violent storm."
