The Empire State Development Corp., New York's chief economic development agency, named Paul F. Ciminelli to its board of directors. Ciminelli, president and CEO of Ciminelli Development Co., is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

Belmont Housing Resources for WNY elected attorney Bruce S. Zeftel to its board of directors. Zeftel currently maintains his own law practice focusing on areas ranging from tax, title and trust litigation to corporate law and mediation.

Caroline M. Szydlo, director of human resources for Brock, Schechter & Polakoff, has earned certification as a senior professional in human resources. Szydlo joined the firm in 2007 after completing her master's degree at the University at Buffalo.

TVGA Consultants, a survey and engineering firm based in Elma, named Kimberly R. Gromoll andJames C. Manzella associates. Gromoll has been a graphic artist at the firm for the past 10 years. Manzella joined the firm in 2001 as a project scientist.

Crowley Webb, a Buffalo marketing communications agency, won both gold and silver ADDY Awards from District 2 of the American Advertising Federation.
