Financial Institutions, the parent of Five Star Bank, said former chief financial officer Ronald A. Miller will work as a part-time consultant for the bank through the end of September after he retires from his full-time executive post as of March 31. Miller, who has already been replaced as CFO by Karl F. Krebs, will assist the company for one day of work per week.

AP Professionals, a national staffing solutions provider with a local office at 5110 Main St. in Williamsville, appointed Samuel L. Miller a placement director for the firm's Financial Placement Division. Miller will specialize in placing accounting and finance professionals on a temporary basis with companies in the greater Buffalo area. He has more than 19 years of specialized staffing and recruiting experience.
