- Gov. David A. Paterson issued an order today delaying more than $2 billion in state aid payments to public schools, reports Tom Precious of the News Albany Bureau. Paterson said he has no choice but to halt the payments because the state's finances must be balanced when the 2009 fiscal year ends tomorrow.
- A portion of the Amherst bike path, near New Road, has slid into Tonawanda Creek. The 100-foot stretch has been cordoned off.
- Florida quarterback Tim Tebow was among about a dozen college prospects at One Bills Drive today, News Sports Reporter Mark Gaughan writes. Tebow's visit included dinner with Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly on Sunday.
