>Clothesline Project to be on display at NCCC
SANBORN -- The Clothesline Project, a nationally recognized exhibit devoted to raising awareness about sexual violence, will be on display at Niagara County Community College this week as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The exhibit is open to students, staff and the public from 9 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the College's Art Gallery, Room D-168.
The display is sponsored by the NCCC Wellness Center and Niagara County Trauma Task Force, and features a collection of T-shirts, each decorated by women and men who have been touched by sexual violence as a victim, survivor, friend or family member.
>YWCA selling tickets to $10,000 cash raffle
LOCKPORT -- The YWCA of Niagara is selling tickets now for its annual $10,000 cash raffle, to be held at 6 p.m. April 10 in South Lockport Fire hall, 5666 S. Transit Road.
Tickets cost $100 each and include admission for two to the April 10 fundraising reception, including food, soft drinks, beer and wine.
Proceeds from the event and raffle will benefit the YWCA's domestic violence education and prevention programs. Tickets are available by calling 433-6714 or visiting the YWCA, 32 Cottage St.
>Church seeks donations for prom season
NEWFANE -- The First Baptist Church Missions Outreach Committee is seeking gently used dresses and other formal wear that can be used for those less fortunate during prom season.
Donations can be dropped off from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the East Avenue Church or by calling 940-8286 to make other arrangements.
