Frances Dalessandro, a retired delivery room nurse, died Wednesday, two days shy of her 99th birthday, in her Lackawanna home.
Born in Lackawanna, Mrs. Dalessandro was a 1932 graduate of Our Lady of Victory School of Nursing while Father Nelson Baker was still alive.
She held various positions at Our Lady of Victory Hospital before being assigned to the delivery room in 1945. She continued in the position until she retired in 1975.
Her husband, Vincent, died in 1990.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan P. Braeuner, Odilia Cielsa and Josephine M.
Prayers will be said at 9:45 a.m. Monday in Norman E. Gannon & Sons Funeral Home, 1075 Ridge Road, Lackawanna. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Ridge Road at South Park Avenue, Lackawanna.
