The Erie County Fair is inviting kids ages 8 to 10 to apply for a chance to attend Fair Camp for free. Campers and their parent or guardian will sleep for two nights in the barns, help care for animals, show a calf, learn about fair food and ride in the parade. Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, invites students to compete in the annual congressional art competition, "An Artistic Discovery." High school students are asked to submit works that focus on the 2010 Census or Western New York. Deadline for entries is May 5. Artwork by students in Hamburg will be displayed at the sixth annual Festival of the Arts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Hub at the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg, 4999 McKinley Parkway. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Paint Box Project at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.



The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Environmental Youth Summit will be held Saturday and Sunday at Rich Products. The summit is open to area high school teams, which will develop action plans to address an environmental problem in their community. Projects from the summit will be displayed on the Community Foundation Environmental Network Web site during the summer.
