BUFFALO -- Deadline was tonight. But now there is extra time. To create sweet verse.
A "Chocolate Love" poetry contest organized by Choco-Logo Confectionery Design on Broadway will give candy lovers a chance to show off their creative sides with Haiku or other forms of poetry.
The deadline, which was tonight, has been extended through Thursday, said Choco-Logo owner Dan Johnson.
The poetry contest is a marketing effort of sorts for the factory's second annual Bunny Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 141 Broadway. The event will benefit Pastoral Care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Tickets are $5 for children ages 3 and older.
First prize for the poetry contest for adults is a $25 Choco-Logo gift certificate. First prize in the category for children under 12 is a pair of Bunny Fest tickets.
"All forms of poetry are welcomed," organizers said, "but we prefer the elegant simplicity of Haiku."
Poetry submissions should be sent to email@example.com and should include a name, e-mail address, phone number and age category.
