Thomas E. Peters of Wheatfield, a school administrator for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, died Thursday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. He was 64.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Peters was a Navy veteran. He had worked the past 24 years in the diocese's Department of Schools, serving as assistant superintendent of government programs.
He was a member of the Ken-Ton Sertoma Club and First United Methodist Church, where he was a former choir director. He also was choir director for Brighton Community Church and a member of the Western New York Educational Service Council.
A tuba player, Mr. Peters enjoyed performing with the Grand Island Community Band and the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas, Post 264.
Survivors include his wife, the former Janice Moorman; a son, Jeremy; a daughter, Alison Van Horn; and a sister, Kathleen Nagel.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church, Tremont and Main streets, North Tonawanda.
