LEWISTON -- Anthony Mascaro, who owned a Niagara Falls concrete company for a half-century, died Saturday in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, after a lengthy illness. He was 75.
Born in Cellara, Calabria, Italy, he immigrated to Niagara Falls in 1950. A decade later, he married Clara M. Fiore, and they ran Mascaro Concrete Co.
Mr. Mascaro was a member of Cement and Mason Local 111 and the Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls for more than 50 years.
He enjoyed playing in the Hyde Park Bocce League, gardening, tending his yard and making sausage and wine. He had a winter home in Fort Myers Beach, Fla.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Dr. Frank J., and two daughters, Maria Sinatra and Tina.
Prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Wednesday in M.J. Colucci and Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Town of Niagara, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Center St. Lewiston.
