JCC-Olean students stabbed in basketball game at Bona

OLEAN -- Two members of the basketball team at the Olean Campus of Jamestown Community College suffered stab wounds in a fight at about 3 a.m. Sunday with members of the St. Bonaventure University basketball team on the St. Bonaventure campus, state police report.

James Chatmon, 20, a freshman from Olean; and Rameek Boyd, 20, a freshman from New Rochelle, were released after treatment in Olean General Hospital. Troopers said an investigation is continuing.

Springville man indicted on multiple charges

LITTLE VALLEY -- A Springville man has been indicted by a Cattaraugus County grand jury on charges of trespassing, endangering a child and harassment.

John P. Bray, 40, was named in a report Thursday from District Attorney Lori Rieman, who said arraignments for those indicted will be scheduled by the court.

Bray is charged with third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment Aug. 8 in the Town of Freedom at a house when more than $250 damage took place and another person was endangered.

John J. Murphy, 36, of Delevan, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and resisting arrest Sept. 22 in the Town of Yorkshire.

Lawrence A. Sullivan, 42, of Kill Buck, was charged with driving while intoxicated and without a license Oct. 16 in the Town of Allegany, with a blood alcohol count of 0.17 percent.

Multiple charges follow failure to heed traffic stop

PEMBROKE -- A Pembroke man faces multiple charges after he refused to pull over for a traffic stop at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office reports.

Deputies said Dennis F. Johnson, 49, of Akron Road, was found to be consuming alcohol while driving and was determined to be driving while intoxicated. He also was charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and inadequate plate lamps. Officers said Johnson did not stop until he reached the driveway at his home.

Deputies also arrested Julie S. Besser, 42, of Council House Road, Alabama, on a DWI charge after a traffic stop on Hopkins Road in the Town of Pembroke at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Officers said she refused to submit to a breath test. She also was charged with failure to dim lights and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. She was released without bail after arraignment in Pembroke Town Court.

Woman, 19, charged in motel stabbing

ALLEGANY -- A Bradford, Pa., woman is being held in Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail on a charge stemming from a stabbing at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the Lantern Motel on Route 417, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office reports.

Samantha Jo Conner, 19, of Center Street, was charged with second-degree assault and was arraigned in Allegany Town Court.

The victim, a woman whose name was withheld, was taken to Olean General Hospital, then transferred to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo. No information on her condition was available Sunday. Deputies said several people were involved in the incident.

Charges include violating order of protection

OAKFIELD -- A Town of Batavia man is being held in Genesee County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail after he was arrested early Saturday for violating an order of protection at a residence on Garabaldi Avenue here, sheriff's deputies report.

Justin J. Jaszko, 30, of Kelsey Road, also was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.

Cattaraugus man, 25, charged with DWI

A Town of Cattaraugus man was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated early Sunday after an Erie County sheriff's deputy stopped him for driving with his headlights off on North Buffalo Street in Springville.

Joshua Manning, 25, failed a field sobriety check and had a 0.12 percent blood alcohol level, according to the deputy.
