The weather has been gorgeous. Saturday is the first day of spring. And I plan to celebrate by taking down the winter arrangement hanging on our front door and replacing it with a yellow forsythia wreath.
I can't wait.
Another sign that spring is here: Plantasia -- the garden and landscape show -- comes to the Fairgrounds in Hamburg Thursday through March 28.
This year's theme is "Artistry in Bloom," and this is the 10th anniversary of the event.
Here you can expect to see -- and smell -- landscaped areas featuring flowers, of course, but also trees, shrubs, ponds, lighting and more. Theme gardens cover close to 20,000 square feet in two buildings -- the Agri-Center and Expo Building.
A Children's Discovery Garden is planned again this year as well as seminars and a garden market.

Another event to note: The Spring Flower Show opens Saturday at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. We're talking thousands and thousands of spring flowers here, I read on the Web site.
The show runs through April 11. For more information, visit www.buffalogardens.com or call 827-1584.
