The Buffalo News plans to run its annual directory of summer camps in the Western New York area on May 7. The Hockey for Hospice event March 27 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena opens with a girls hockey game, includes a hockey marathon and concludes March 28 with the Buffalo Sabres Alumni taking the ice to face Team Hospice.
The event opens with a 7 p.m. game between Jamestown and Olean. A 13-hour hockey marathon will start at 10 p.m. March 27 for players ages 18 and over.
Marathon players can register for one hour or all 13 hours, as well as select times that are convenient for them to play. Players can register as an individual or a team and will receive an "I survived the marathon" T-shirt, a complimentary ticket to the Sabres Alumni game and a commemorative puck.
Eight youth teams will play four exhibition games between 11 a.m.-3 p.m. March 28, with the Sabres Alumni game set for 4 p.m. Youth players participating in the event will receive a ticket to the alumni game and puck.
Tickets for the alumni game cost $10. Donations will be accepted at the door for other weekend activities. All funds will be used for direct patient care in Chautauqua County.

BASEBALL: The Kensington Little League will hold player registration for ages 5-14 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at McCarthy Park, and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 3 at Dick's Sporting Goods in the Galleria Mall. GOLF: The Deerwood Men's Golf Club is seeking members for the upcoming season. The club features 20 weeks of tournament play, the computation of your USGA handicap, a spring social, summer picnic and fall banquet. Interested players can join at the spring social, which begins at 4 p.m. March 27 at the Fairways Restaurant at Deerwood, 1818 Sweeney St., North Tonawanda. Member dues are $55. ICE SKATING: Learn to skate classes for figure skaters and hockey players will be held at Niagara University's Dwyer Arena in Lewiston.
