Syracuse senior center Arinze Onuaku did not participate in practice on Monday and spent the session soaking in a whirlpool.
Orange coach Jim Boeheim said Sunday that it was uncertain whether Onuaku would be able to play in the team's first round matchup against Vermont at HSBC Arena Friday night. If Onuaku can't go, the Orange will likely start 6-7 Kris Joseph and move power forward Rick Jackson in Onuaku's spot at center.
“I would say he is ... unlikely to play this weekend,'' Boeheim said on Sunday. "That could change at the end of the week, but that’s my thinking right now. He’s made some progress. He’s moving around a little bit, but at this point in time, I would be very skeptical of him playing this weekend, although I wouldn’t say it was impossible.”
