I'm in the press box at Ralph Wilson Stadium, getting prepared for today's game against the Saints. Looking forward to an entertaining day, which is certainly welcome after some of last year's dreary shows at the Ralph. There should be a lot of scoring, and I'm expecting the Bills to hang with New Orleans and be in position to win in the fourth quarter. Still, I like the Saints by a field goal.
My colleague from the Associated Press, John Wawrow, informs me that the Saints are trying to become the first team in NFL history to open a season with three straight 40-point games. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown nine touchdown passes already, needs two TDs to break the NFL record for TD passes in the first three weeks. Eight QBs have thrown 10 in the first three games, including Buffalo's Jim Kelly in 1991.
Don't forget that during this week's Bills-Saints game, The News' coverage will once again be in high gear with Bills Live. If you're watching the game at home, you'll want to keep the Bills Live page open so that you can be a part of Mike Harrington's live chat. Mike will be hosting the chat from Ralph Wilson Stadium and will offer the latest news and instant analysis -- plus opinions and reactions from Bills fans worldwide.
I will be chiming in from time to time again on the chat during the game. I won't be blogging on my blog during the game, and our football writers do not blog on our Billboard site during games.
If you're not near a TV during the game, Bills Live also plots each play on a gridiron and gives real-time statistical updates.
Bills Live begins one hour before every Bills game. Find Bills Live by going to www.buffalonews.com/bills starting at 3 p.m. and clicking on the Bills Live logo.
