Willis HRH in Buffalo appointed Chris Coleman vice president and client executive in its risk management and insurance practice. Coleman is a graduate of Western Michigan University and has nearly 10 years of insurance carrier and brokerage experience. Willis HRH is part of Willis Group, an insurance broker.

The Buffalo certified public accounting firm Brock, Schechter and Polakoff named Katie E. Hokenson, Peter J. Ruocco and Andrew P. Kelley staff accountants. Hokenson recently graduated from Canisius College. She previously was a bookkeeper at Circle C. Ranch. Ruocco is a University at Buffalo graduate. He lectured at the University at Buffalo on introductory accounting recently and was a teaching assistant for two years. Kelley is a UB graduate.

Synacor, a Buffalo technology company providing Internet solutions to Internet service providers, as well as the advertising and media industries, promoted Randy Callesto to manager of technical and NOC support, Garret Hodgson to manager of systems and release engineering, Matt Berg to lead e-mail engineer, Bill Rarick to lead systems administrator and Andy Skalski to lead systems administrator. Also the company shifted Adam Howell to director of information technology, Gerry Bromley to manager, security and process and Phil Seibel to director of technical operations.

Canisius High School appointed Mark S. Binding vice president of advancement. Binding previously served the school in the same capacity from 1998-2002. Most recently, he was the director of development for Hilbert College for nine years. He received his bachelor's degree in sociology from the University at Buffalo.

Trocaire College appointed Joan Williams director of development. Williams was most recently the director of development with the Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, and Holy Angels Academy.

J. Fitzgerald Group, a Lockport advertising and marketing agency, named Gary Thomas director of new business development. Previously, Thomas was Northeast regional director of health and beauty care/general merchandise at Acosta Sales & Marketing of Amherst.
