Sept. 26, 1965 -- Joe Namath had a great pro football career, but he had some forgettable
games against the Bills over the years.
Joe Willie might remember his first regular-season start on this day, which turned into a 33-21 loss to Buffalo. The Bills jumped to a 13-0 lead and never looked back. Namath (19 for 40) threw touchdown passes to Bill Mathis and Dee Mackey, but Pete Gogolak had four field goals and the Bills had 408 yards in total offense.
The win improved the Bills' record to 3-0. They were headed toward another AFL championship.
