Organic food maker vows aid to promote trails

An organic food maker will donate up to $25,000 for the preservation and promotion of trails in New York State Parks during an online promotion through Nov. 15.

Cascadian Farm has pledged to donate $1 for every visitor to www.parkvisitor.com/cascadianfarm who clicks to support trail preservation and leaves a comment about why they like state parks trails.

The company has promised to donate at least $15,000 and up to $25,000 for the "click to give" initiative.

NOW president to lead talk about Congress and women

The recently elected president of the National Organization for Woman will be in Buffalo early next month for a forum focusing on recent congressional measures and how they will impact the lives of women.

Terry O'Neill, a feminist attorney, was elected NOW president in June. She will be joined by Allendra Letsome, vice president of membership for NOW. Topics during the forum will include domestic violence, breast cancer and single-payer health care.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Asbury Hall at Babeville, 341 Delaware Ave.
