1. Eat like little piggies at Oinktoberfest.
Watch as 60 barbecue teams converge on the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence. Smell the chili, taste the barbecue and take a walk through a pumpkin patch or two. Admission to Oinktoberfest is $5 per person each day. Gates open at 5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. For a complete schedule, visit www.oinktoberfest.com. Find the farm at 11199 Main St.
2. Mini-Me, eat your heart out.
The Dollhouse Miniatures Show on Sunday will draw hobbyists from throughout the Northeast to display their dollhouses, room boxes and other wee creations. Expect exhibits from Western New York Miniature Enthusiasts, too. The fun runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 333 Dick Road in Depew.
3. Feeling leaf-happy yet?
The Lewiston Harvest Festival and Craft Show on Saturday and Sunday runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Center Street. Troll through the village for some good deals on jewelry, art, woodwork and farm-fresh fruit and vegetables. Music, too, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Frontier House.
4. Meet the llamas of Knox Farm on Saturday at the Fiber Festival.
See silkworms at work -- making silken threads, and appreciate ornamental ironwork by a blacksmith. There will be flax spinning, hayrides and angora goat shearing. All this fun for $4 (over age 8) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 437 Buffalo Road in East Aurora. Call 655-7203 or visit www.knoxfarmfiber.com.
