Sept. 19, 1970 -- There probably isn't a plaque in Wooster, Ohio, but local pro basketball fans probably should visit there once anyway. After all, it was the location of the the first game every played by a team called the Buffalo Braves.
The Braves took on fellow expansion team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Buffalo took a 97-95 decision. But it turned out to be a memorable trip for some of the wrong reasons.
The Braves took a bus home, and the vehicle ran out of gas at 2:30 a.m. The players scrambled to find shelter in a hotel that night.
