Friday Night Live: Week Three

Week Three got kicked off last night -- and how -- with Joe Licata's record-setting performance Thursday.

Will tonight offer anything close to that kind of excitement?

Friday night's action starts, as usual, at 5 p.m. at All High Stadium as Burgard takes on McKinley. The Macks have beaten Burgard six straight times.

The Depew at Maryvale game, which has a 7 p.m. kickoff, is on WGR (550 AM).

Here's what you think the best game of the weekend is.

I'm headed to one of the top choices -- Frontier at Lancaster -- and I'll be posting updates from Foyle-Kling Field.

Stay here through the night as we'll have updates as soon as we get them.

Also, tune your twitter to "bufnewspreptalk" to get instant updates of the scores as soon as they are reported to us. We also have a fan page at Facebook -- just search "The Buffalo News' Prep Talk blog" -- and you'll get updates with links to our high school sports stories.

I stopped at All High Stadium and Maryvale before heading to Lancaster, where I'm LIVE BLOGGING the Redskins' big game with Frontier

Here's a taste from the other two sites:

Burgard had a 26-0 lead upon my arrival and didn't look like they were about to give up any points as they stopped McKinley on a fourth down late in the third quarter (above). The lead was 26-0 at the end of the third as I headed to Maryvale at about 6:48 p.m.

This (above) was a third-down stop by Maryvale as Depew couldn't get a first down on the first offensive series of the game. I departed at 7:12 p.m. to get to Lancaster.
