>Angola man, 27, accused of sexually abusing girl
Lackawanna police have arrested a 27-year-old Angola man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl Aug. 20 in Lackawanna's First Ward.
Detectives charged Rashan R. Doyle, of North Main Street, with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Doyle is accused of entering the girl's bedroom while staying with family friends in their apartment.
Detectives Tia Celestino and Allen Knaszak arrested Doyle.

Evans police and Erie County sheriff's deputies teamed up Monday to arrest a Collins man accused of physically abusing his ex-girlfriend and smashing a large aquarium.
Deputies responded to an Orchard Place home in Collins, where they said Jesse J. Jennings, 31, had left the scene. An extensive search by sheriff's deputies, Evans and Gowanda police led to him being apprehended by Town of Evans police in their town.
Sheriff's Deputies Warren Hawthorn and Timothy Donovan charged Jennings with criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing, harassment and criminal trespass.
He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on no bail, pending his arraignment in Town of Collins Court.

A Town of Tonawanda man was charged with driving while intoxicated after state troopers stopped him Monday on South Transit Road in Lockport for allegedly crossing over hazard markings on the highway, troopers reported.
Timothy M. Taggart, 58, of Southwood Drive, was issued an appearance ticket for Sept. 22 in Lockport Town Court.

A Lockport man faces charges after attempting to smuggle heroin to an inmate in the Erie County Holding Center, Erie County sheriff's officials report.
Richard Muth, 32, was arrested Saturday after Deputy Neal Russo spotted a small packet of white powder when he registered to visit an inmate.
After questioning, Muth was charged with promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
>Falls man, 21, ticketed for DWI, lack of license
A Niagara Falls man was issued appearance tickets for driving while intoxicated and not having a driver's license Sunday in Lewiston, State Police reported Tuesday.
Albert V. Ventry, 21, of River Road, was stopped after he failed to dim his headlights on Route 429, police said. Troopers noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and administered a field sobriety test before charging Ventry, police said.

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- A St. Catharines man facing aggravated assault charges is accused of a stabbing Saturday outside Delta Bingo on Church Street, Niagara Regional Police said.
Maurice R. Lavoie, 45, who was arrested Monday, is accused of the stabbing, which occurred at 10:05 p.m. There, two male suspects forced the victim, 33, to the ground and stabbed him twice with a knife, police said.
The victim suffered a cut to his back and a superficial wound to his stomach.
He was taken to St. Catharines General Hospital and discharged on Sunday.
>Man held in robbery of Welland gas station
WELLAND, Ont. -- A Welland man is charged with robbery and a probation violation in the robbery of a Welland gas station, Niagara Regional Police said.
Police said Shane Greenwood, no age listed, brandished a large kitchen knife and demanded money Monday from an employee at the King Street gas station before fleeing on foot. Police set up a perimeter of the area and started searching for the suspect, arresting him a short time later.
Police said they recovered both the money and the weapon.
