Meetings will discuss concerns of veterans

OLEAN -- John B. Sampson, director of the Cattaraugus County Veterans Service Agency and an American Legion representative, will meet at various locations in the county with veterans and their families to discuss benefits, the VA health care system and other concerns.

Sampson will be on hand from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Franklinville town clerk's office in Town Hall on Park Square.

With the exception of the third Thursday each month, veterans also may meet with Sampson from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays in the County Center office building at 303 Court St., Little Valley.

Sampson's Olean office hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday at 1 Leo Moss Drive. Veterans are advised to call 701-3298 before visiting there to confirm Sampson's availability.



Brown Bag Book Club to meet Tuesday in library

OLEAN -- The Friends of the Olean Public Library will supply drinks and dessert for the Brown Bag Book Club meeting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"Spilling Clarence," by Anne Ursu, will be discussed, and attendees should bring a bag lunch. The library is located at 134 N. Second St.

The public is welcome to attend a meeting of the library's board of trustees at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Conference Room. For more information, visit or call 372-0200.
