Dermot McGrane is now the all-time leader in coaching victories in Niagara men's soccer history following the Purple Eagles' 1-0 win over William & Mary on Sunday at the Stihl Classic in Norfolk, Va. Levi Tesch scored to help McGrane earn his 48th career win. He moved ahead of Jean Tassy, who amassed a 47-40-7 mark from 1974-81.
"It's a nice honor to have," McGrane said. "But the most important thing is we got a win."

Niagara's Joe Tonnos had an ace up his sleeve during Army's Mulekicker Fall Classic in West Point. The Purple Eagles' captain aced his final hole of the tournament, a 194-yard par 3, with a 5-iron.
"It was very surprising," said Tonnos, who fired a 10-over-par 80 to finish the two-day tournament with a 159. "It was an uphill hole and I just hit it pure. I couldn't see if it went in or not, but everyone around the green started cheering right away, so I had an idea."
NU finished eighth out of 12 teams in the event won by Army. Trevor Kenney shot a second-round 78 to finish with a 157 for the Purple Eagles.
