Gunman takes $200 from E. Side McDonald's

A bandit armed with a black handgun stole more than $200 from the McDonald's restaurant on William Street and Jefferson Avenue on Thursday night, Buffalo police reported Friday.

Central District police said that the robber, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and a black-and-white bandanna, walked up to the drive-through window at the McDonald's at 453 William St. at about 9 p.m. Thursday.

The thief displayed his handgun, demanded all the money and threatened to blow the employee's head off if he wasn't given the money.

The robber fled on foot.

Rollover accident results in DWI charge

An Irving woman was charged with driving while intoxicated following a rollover accident early Friday morning in the Town of Brant, Erie County sheriff's officials said.

Deputies arrested Jamie L. Stafford, 34, of Milestrip Road, after her car rolled over on Lake Shore Road at about 2 a.m. She was charged with DWI, driving with a suspended license and other traffic violations, including driving with improper plates, according to police reports.

Stafford was taken with possible internal injuries to Lake Shore Community Hospital, where she also submitted to a blood sample being taken. She later was released from the hospital.

Deputies said the car was impounded while they determine who owns the vehicle.
