Three candidates are running for Sardinia town justice in two primaries Tuesday.
Incumbent Sharlene Vossler is being challenged in the Republican primary by William J. Hopkins.
Hopkins, 50, is running against Democrat Joni M. Farleo for the Conservative line.
Farleo and Vossler responded to a Buffalo News questionnaire.
Vossler, 71, a Republican and a retired teacher, has been town justice for 12 years. She said she maintains the highest judicial ethical standards. She said she has worked with the Town Board and New York Justice Court Fund to obtain grants to enlarge and improve courtroom facilities and equipment.
Farleo, 49, a Democrat and business teacher at Pioneer Central High School, said she is well-versed in all aspects of court conduct, proceedings and sentencing. She said she teaches personal and business law at Pioneer High School and has conducted criminal and civil mock trials with her students.
