Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare partner Dr. Thomas Elmer is currently featured on with a video report covering his mission on Mercy Ships. Dr. Elmer rejoined Mercy Shipsfor a trip to Africa last October, and is planning another trip there this fall. Volunteering four times previously, Dr. Elmer has served on extended missions to Sierra Leone in 2003 and 2004, and Liberia in 2005 and 2006. He also traveled to Mexico with Medical MissionsInternational in 2007.

Fidelis Care, a government programs-based health insurance company, appointed Kim Sardina-Smith director, human resources, based in the company's Amherst regional office. She has more than 13 years of human resources experience, serving most recently as human resources/talent management manager at Rich Products for three years. She earned a bachelor's degree in business and a master's degree in business administration, both from Canisius College.

Reid Stores recently celebrated the grand opening of a new Crosby's convenience store in Albion. The Crosby's store, located at 14383 Ridge Road operates from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. The location was formerly JP's Farm Market II.
