The Mental Health Association in Niagara County offers a support group for those dealing with depression and anxiety from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital's conference dining room, 445 Tremont St., North Tonawanda. For information, call 433-3780, Ext. 10.

Disabled American Veterans Roll of Honor 120 will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Brounshidle Post, side door entrance (downstairs), 3354 Delaware Ave., Town of Tonawanda. For information, call 691-3071.

Native American Independent Living Services offers services to disabled veterans and their families through their outreach office in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Room 103-1C, first floor, 3495 Bailey Ave. It is open the first and third Thursday of each month. The Erie County Department of Senior Services will hold a six-week "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" program from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays beginning this week through April 11 in St. John Baptist/Hospice Buffalo House, 111 Maple St. The program also will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays March 12 to 26 and April 2 to 9, in the Medical Society of Erie County, 1317 Harlem Road.

Caregivers will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, locate helpful resources and balance their lives while taking care of a physically or mentally impaired relative or friend.

Cost is $25, but there is no charge for members of Blue-Cross BlueShield or Independent Health. Registration is required by calling 858-2177 or e-mail caregiver@erie.gov.

The Parent Network of Western New York is offering free special-education workshops on developing an individualized education plan (IEP) for those with developmental disabilities. They will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in Erie 2 BOCES Hewes Center, 2615 N. Maple St. (Route 394), Ashville, and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Charlotte Avenue Elementary School cafeteria, 301 Charlotte Ave., Hamburg. The Independent Living Center of Niagara County, 746 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, provides services for individuals with disabilities, including "Taking Control," a Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, referral information, peer counseling and living skills training. The Early Childhood Direction Center provides information and referral to parents and professionals on the needs of developmentally disabled children to age 5. It also provides technical assistance to centers that care for young children with special needs. It serves Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara and Orleans counties.
