The Juneteenth Festival is still a few months away, but the group behind it will offer a little taste of the annual cultural event on Sunday with a collection of activities dubbed "Breathe Your Ancestors' Air."
The affair, which will feature poetry, musical performances, dancing and art activities for children, gets under way at noon Sunday at the Buffalo Museum of Science (1020 Humboldt Parkway). Poets participating in the event include Celeste Lawson, Lonnie and Priscilla Hill, Pamela Plummer, Rain "Poetess" Bethel-Cooper, Tysheka "SpOkEn" Long and Vonetta T. Rhodes.
The day will also feature performances by musicians from the Colored Musicians Club and dancers from the Crusaders Drill Team, and several groups of krump dancers. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children. For more information, call 896-5200.
