The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation appointed Nicholas G. Randell and Charles E. Colston Jr. program officers. Randell, most recently administrative director for the University at Buffalo School of Engineering Center for Industrial Effectiveness, is a University of Virginia graduate and earned his MBA from UB. Colston, a UB graduate with a masters degree in urban planning, was most recently a project manager for Bethel Community Development Corp. The foundation supports programs and services for children and adolescents affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse and by enhancing childhood and primary education.
AAA Western and Central New York promoted Jennifer Argentieri to director of Member Solutions, Jessica Sorden to manager of Membership Operations and Jennifer Scero to manager of Member Services and Route Production. Argentieri, who joined the company in 1992, holds an associate's degree in travel and tourism from Genesee Community College. Sorden, who joined the company in 2000, holds a certification in project management from the University at Buffalo's School of Management. Scero, with the company since 1995, holds an associate's in travel and tourism management from Bryant and Stratton and is a certified travel agent.

O-AT-KA, a Batavia dairy cooperative, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The company, which began operations with five full-time employees, has grown to employ more than 300. The cooperative processes more than 600 million pounds of milk per year, 100 percent of it supplied locally.

Pizza Hut restaurants, locally owned and operated by Hospitality West, recently awarded $29,000 in grants to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Erie County, Kid's Escaping Drugs, Variety Club, Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Mary's School for the Deaf and Bornhava, through its non-for-profit organization Raising Dough for Kids. Since 2002 the organization has donated more than $500,000 to Buffalo, Jamestown and Elmira area children's charities that involve at risk youth.
