>Passenger dies aboard Tampa-to-Buffalo flight

A passenger aboard a Southwest Airlines flight bound for Buffalo on Monday night died while the plane was in the air, an airline official said.

The passenger, whose name was not released, died of natural causes, Southwest Airlines officials said.

The plane had departed from Tampa and landed at Buffalo Niagara International Airport at about 10 p.m.

>DWI charge follows rollover crash in Elma

A 73-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a rollover crash on Route 400 in Elma on Monday night, Erie County sheriff's officials said Tuesday.

Donald A. Cunningham, of Reiter Road, Town of Aurora, was southbound on Route 400 near Transit Road at about 9:30 p.m. when his vehicle went off the road, extensively damaging several hundred feet of guardrail, before rolling over, deputies said.

Cunningham was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of injuries described as minor.

Deputy Kristin Rozycki arrested Cunningham on a DWI charge after he showed signs of intoxication and failed some sobriety tests, officials said.

>Bandit escapes with cash from Kenmore Avenue CVS

A robber walked into the CVS Pharmacy at 465 Kenmore Ave. about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, threatened a clerk and left quickly with an undetermined amount of cash, Town of Tonawanda police report.

Police said the robber, who did not show a weapon, was white and was wearing dark clothing with a hat and hood that partially covered his face.

>Woman, 23, arrested in case involving boy, 3

Police arrested a 23-year-old Delaware Avenue woman after a 3-year-old boy was found in a bathtub and was rushed to Women and Children's Hospital.

Alicia Rogers, who is not the mother of the child, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The boy was found in the tub of the woman's apartment at about 8 p.m. Thursday. He then was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent treatment.

The condition of the boy was not immediately available.

>Beating victim, 43, is in critical condition

A 43-year-old Buffalo man was in critical condition Tuesday in Erie County Medical Center after an attack early Monday morning.

Charles E. Brackett, of Landon Street, was in the trauma intensive care unit at ECMC after he was beaten in the head and body, police said.

The incident happened at about 1 a.m. Monday in his home on Landon between Roehrer and Wohlers avenues.

>Pizza deliveryman robbed of cash, subs

A pizza deliveryman was robbed Tuesday afternoon while bringing submarine sandwiches to a South Division Street address.

The victim said he was bringing two "club subs" from Carbone's on South Park Avenue to an address in the 400 block of South Division when a man, described as black, 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, wearing a red and black scarf, black pants and a black leather coat robbed him at gunpoint. The victim said the thief put a 9 mm handgun to his face.

The thief took $150 in cash and the two sandwiches.

>Armed holdup attempt at laundry unsuccessful

A man with a rifle tried to rob a Main Street coin laundry Monday night, according to a Buffalo police report.

The bandit entered Lake Effect Laundromat, 2311 Main St., at about 7:50 p.m., demanded money, but nothing was taken, police said.

>Four women attack, rob two others in bar

Two women told Buffalo police they were attacked and robbed by four other women early Tuesday morning in a bar near the Cheektowaga line.

The incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. in Jazzy's bar, on Genesee Street between Eller and Domedion avenues, according to a Buffalo police report.

The two victims, who each appeared intoxicated according to the report, each told police they had earrings taken, and one said a necklace was stolen.

>Man, 21, accused of having two loaded handguns

A 21-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning in possession of two loaded handguns, according to a Buffalo police report.

Kenneth Samuel III, of Bissell Avenue, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony.

A .22-caliber revolver and a .380-caliber semiautomatic handgun were recovered in Samuel's backyard, the report said.

Police were called to the area of Bissell and McKibben Street for the report of a man with a gun.
