A memorial Mass for Mary Jacobus, a veteran newspaper executive who most recently was president and chief operating officer of the New York Times Co.'s Regional Media Group, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
Ms. Jacobus died Friday of a cerebral hemorrhage in St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa, Fla. She was 52.
Born Mary McCall, she grew up in the Town of Tonawanda and was a graduate of Nardin Academy and LeMoyne College in Syracuse. At the beginning of her career, she held circulation management positions at The Buffalo News and the Buffalo Courier-Express.
Ms. Jacobus is survived by her husband, Dean; two daughters, Kelly and Kimberly; a son, Bill; a stepdaughter, Chris Maxey; a stepson, Robert Jacobus; two brothers, Thomas and Joseph McCall; and a sister, Kathleen Bittner.
