Zhaofang Guo, Ford Motor Co. computer engineer Sept. 24, 1955 -- Feb. 12, 2009

A memorial service for Zhaofang Guo, who died in the crash of Continental Flight 3407 in Clarence Center, will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Perna-Pellegrino Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Road, Amherst.

Mr. Guo, 53, of Williamsville, was a computer engineer at Ford Motor Co.'s Buffalo Stamping Plant in the Town of Hamburg.

He was born in Beijing and graduated from Peking University. He later traveled to this country and earned a master's degree in electronic engineering from Louisiana Tech University.

Mr. Guo moved to this area in 1988, the year he began working as an engineer at the Stamping Plant.

He was an avid reader of Chinese poetry and literature, a regular swimmer and a talented chef.

Survivors include his wife, Ping Wang; a son, Kevin Q.; his mother, Yu Mei Tang; his father, Jing Xin Guo; and a sister, Jie Guo.
