Niagara Honor Roll / Achievers and achievements

The Lewiston Public Library announced that Library Assistant Michelle Kratts recently completed a Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies from the University of Toronto. This program is jointly sponsored by the National Institute for Genealogical Studies and the Professional Learning Centre of the Faculty of Information Studies. Kratts also has a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in history from Niagara University.
The training was funded through the Jon F. Popkey Genealogy Collection, thanks to a substantial donation from Jean Popkey Gilbert, in honor of her late brother, Jon. The purpose of the Jon F. Popkey Genealogy Collection is to provide a gateway to research for the family historian through all available means. The collection includes both circulating and noncirculating materials, as well as access to the and HeritageQuest.
