The Energy and Environment Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the city parks.

The Health and Human Services Committee meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. At 10:30 a.m., legislators will hold a public hearing on a proposed law to let other bidders question whether the government has chosen the "lowest responsible bidder" in awarding a contract. That hearing will be in the Legislative Conference Room on the fourth floor of Old County Hall.

The Energy and Environment Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Erie County Water Authority's Sturgeon Point Water Treatment Plant in Derby for an informational session.

The Town Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Town Hall, 6100 South Park Ave. A public hearing on junkyards is scheduled.

The board will hold a budget workshop on the 2009-10 general fund budget. The workshop will be followed by a special meeting to discuss personnel and the hiring of an assistant superintendent.

A community meeting hosted by Mark P. Mondanaro, superintendent of the Ken-Ton School District, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium at Kenmore East High School, Brighton and Fries roads. A question-and-answer session will be held.

The West Seneca School District will conduct a budget information session at 7 p.m. Thursday in the boardroom in West Elementary School, 1397 Orchard Park Road. The session will address support services, curriculum and instruction.
