Mary Lou Campbell, a retired administrator for Buffalo Public Schools, died Wednesday in her Buffalo home.
She was 71.
A Buffalo native, Ms. Campbell graduated from Nardin Academy and Rosary Hill College.
She earned a master's degree at Canisius College.
Ms. Campbell, who worked for Buffalo schools for 36 years, began her career as a social studies teacher in 1959.
She later became a guidance counselor, initially at East High School and then at Bennett High School.
In 1987, Ms. Campbell became an administrator.
She first served as supervisor of pupil personnel services and was later promoted to director of pupil personnel services. She retired in 1995.
Ms. Campbell served on the board of directors of Nardin Academy.
She enjoyed going on shopping trips, traveling, gourmet cooking and interior decorating.
She is survived by a sister, Kathleen, and a special friend, John Sevenski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1029 Delaware Ave.
