All-Western New York linebacker Brendan Nuessle of Orchard Park has committed to Division I-AA Sacred Heart, according to an e-mail from his father.
The Pioneers, members of the Northeast Conference, went 8-3 last year for the program's first winning campaign since 2003.
(A quick look at Sacred Heart's Web site showed the Pioneers lost their regular season finale to a Central Connecticut team led by 150 yards rushing by Kenmore West grad James Mallory).
Sacred Heart, located in Fairfield, Conn., certainly has found success with OP tough guys before -- that's where current Buffalo Bill Jon Corto went to school.
Also, OP lineman Justin Mesi has also committed to Hobart.
